The Federal Reserve Gets More Dictatorial

March 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

It’s just another day in the land of Leftist stupidity. Obviously, if banks make mistakes, that means the government is supposed to force them to act in a certain “cautious” way and not in a “risky” way. Giving the Federal Reserve more power. That’s all you need to know. The Federal Reserve shouldn’t even exist. Not a single penny should be released into the economy ever again. There is so much money outstanding that there is simply no need to put any more out there. Privatize it. Privatize all currency. Privatize everything. Make the bad banks lose, and don’t let the banks stack on regulations so that they don’t lose. Let them lose when they play roulette with their money. Let Bear Stearns bite the bullet. Let the foolish idiots succumb, and let the wise nerds prevail. Charity only for those who deserve it, and no dictatorship.

The Atheism Crusade

March 27, 2008 · 1 Comment

The following is an excerpt from an excellent article called “The Atheism Crusade,” which can be found at the Jewish Aish website if you click here:

Dawkins’s rebuttal of Aquinas would earn him a “D” in any first year philosophy course. A biologist, not a philosopher, Dawkins simply fails to understand the depth of argument of philosophy, and is too arrogant to admit when he’s out of his element.

Sports are Stupid

March 26, 2008 · 2 Comments

On countless occasions, people have asked me if I play basketball, and they are always disappointed in the answer. They say that it is a waste of my height that I don’t. But I would say that it is a waste of my brain if I do. Why are people even interested in sports? It is because people wish to boost their egos by identifying with a team, and seeing that team win. By associating yourself with a winning team, and by betting on the victory of the team, it is like gambling with your ego–that is, if you do not gamble with actual money, which is another reason that people may like sports. If you choose the winning team, and if people see you choose the winning team, then you are viewed as smarter or wiser than others. But, in truth, people shouldn’t care about sports in the first place. It is all about ego. It is ego-driven. Wise people do not try to show others how smart or wise they are. They just use what they got. And just as there would be no market for prostitution in a wise world, there would be no market for sports. The spectacle of dumb jocks getting paid insanely large amounts of money would no longer exist. That money would go towards things that matter, instead. Like the pursuit of life and liberty.

Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum

March 25, 2008 · Leave a Comment

There is a row over the renaming of a nuthouse the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. Apparently, it is politically incorrect to refer to a lunatic as a lunatic, or to refer to a retard as a retard. To quote from the article: “They say words like ‘lunatic’ and ‘retarded’ have gone the way of ‘colored’ and ‘Negro’ — and should never be resurrected”...But why shouldn’t those words be resurrected? What’s wrong with calling a negro a negro, or a colored a colored, or a retard a retard, or a lunatic a lunatic? Is it wrong to speak the truth? If I use the word “negro” instead of “black” because “negro” is more readily associated with the race, and not merely with the color, what is the problem? Negro is the word that was used in those days, but that means nothing. The other n-word means something because it is supposed to be derogatory, as if to say that the negro doesn’t deserve a right to life and liberty just like everyone else. But “negro” means black, and it is a better word to use because it is not merely a word for a color; it is specifically a word for a race. Lunatic, retard, and colored are also perfectly fine words.

Liberal Democrats are Not for Social Justice

March 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

There is no social justice in stealing from people, and those who steal from people shall be punished in kind. When the government steals from people, that is not social justice, and that means war. Tyranny is not social justice. Tyranny is social injustice. It is liberty that is social justice. And liberty is the natural path in any wise world, for the right to life, liberty, and property is irrevocable. Those who seek to revoke it shall be checked, like the thieves, robbers, and oppressors that they are.

What is Zionism?

March 12, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Zionism is a form of idol-worship in which the Jewish state is the idol worshiped. Thus, Zionism is not merely a desire for a Jewish state. I desire a Jewish state as a means to an end; not as an end in itself; because I am not a Zionist; I am merely a Jew who does not want to be persecuted by Christian or Muslim fanatics. Zionism is actually un-Jewish because it is avoda zara. Real Jews do not worship the Jewish state; they worship Hashem. Now, they may admire the Jews; they may even love the Jews. But they do not worship the Jews as one would worship God. Indeed, that is why there is such a thing as “secular Zionism.” You have to be non-Jewish – or somehow stray from the Jewish path – in order to be a Zionist.

For the most part, Israel is an agent of self-defense. But, needless to say, there are people in Israel and America who threaten the reputations of the state of Israel and the Jewish people as a result of their Zionist activities. It is the Zionists who dominate the Israel lobby in America. The most vocal proponents of the war in Iraq are not Jews; but Zionists. And these Zionists are dangerous to everyone, including the Jews. Any so-called “neo-conservative” cannot possibly be Jewish, because neo-conservatives are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They are either Zionists who pretend to be conservatives – by pretending that wars for Israel are actually “wars against terrorism” as though this tremendous disaster in Iraq is supposed to be beneficial to America – or they are people who have been deceived by them, including Jews themselves. Both Jews and gentiles have been deceived by Zionists into believing a number of things that are not true about 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, and the war in Iraq.

Zionists are delusional. They believe that they are acting on behalf of the Jews. However, they are not acting on behalf of anyone by putting gentile lives in danger. Jews appreciate the economic and social relationships that they have with good gentiles. Indeed, there is even a blessing for righteous gentiles in Judaism. But these Zionists – who exaggerate the importance of the Jews versus the importance of peaceful gentiles – not only put the gentiles in danger; they put the Jews in danger. Why? Because these fools are threatening Jewish lives by inciting wars against the Jews, and they are threatening the lives of peaceful gentiles with whom Jews have fruitful relationship.

If presented with the possibility that Zionist “neo-conservatives” in the media and in the upper echelon of the political hierarchy were involved in cooking up this war in Iraq, and if presented with the possibility that 9/11 was an inside job, made possible by Zionists in the government, real Jews would be aghast at the notion. They would not, in any way, shape, or form support any terrorist activity that targets Americans or other innocent parties – especially if it is ostensibly for the sake of Israel, because that adds insult to injury. To think that those who believe that they were acting on Israel’s behalf were responsible for the collapse of the World Trade Center, and this multi-billion dollar war in Iraq, is unquestionably against true Judaism. And anyone who wishes to frame acts of Zionism as acts of Judaism are, in fact, terrorists or potential terrorists who are just as evil as the Zionists.

Do not confuse Zionism and Judaism. These are two different religions, just as Leftism and Judaism are two different religions. Like Leftism, Zionism is often confused with Judaism by stupid and ignorant Jew-haters who would freely permit the massacre of Jews if they had the power to do so. So be aware of the un-Jewish religion of Zionism, speak out against it, and oppose it as a threat to all of humanity. However, though it may be tempting to eat that cheeseburger, you should separate the meat from the milk. Do not confuse the good Jews with the bad Zionists, lest you are also a malicious, dangerous, and evil fool.

Jew-Haters Distort the “Christmas Tree Lawsuit”

March 11, 2008 · Leave a Comment

This is the true story about the “Christmas tree lawsuit.”

Fight or Light?

Controversy and Irony at SeaTac Airport

One thing I’ve come to realize is that many of us have an innate, enduring loyalty to our preconceptions. We’ll stick with them through thick and thin, no matter what reality sends our way.

I first realized this some twenty years ago when a friend and I, as two young Chabad-Lubavitch rabbinical students, spent our summers canvassing the state of Montana looking for Jews. We’d drive from town to town–some of which only had one or two Jewish families–and try to do our bit to encourage Jewish identity and observance.

We were quite a curiosity, and were often featured in the local newspaper. The publicity proved useful in both drawing local Jews out of the woodwork and gaining us a welcome response when we called on people.

One thing irked me though about these newspaper stories. After spending an hour lecturing the reporter on Jewish identity and explaining about Shabbat, kosher, tefillin and mezuzah–what did s/he write about? About the “Two Hasidic Men Wearing Traditional Hasidic Black Hat and Long Black Coat” who’ve rolled into town.

The black hat part was true. Below the neck, however, we wore ordinary business suits. In all fairness to the reporters, these do tend toward the darker end of the color spectrum. Still, we weren’t in town to promote traditional hasidic garb, and we’d have much preferred that the article focus on the more substantive parts of our message.

So one day we left our hats in the car. My partner wore a light grey suit to the interview, and I put on the most light-colored garment I owned–a light-tan plaid sports jacket.

Sure enough, the next day’s paper ran a full-sized photograph of two hatless, light-jacketed young men posed in front of the newspaper building. One held a pair of tefillin, and the other a Shabbat candlestick. The caption under the photograph read: “Tauber, 21, and Begun, 22, two hasidic rabbis sporting the traditional black hat and long black coat, visit Montana on mission.”

I was reminded again of how attached people can be to their preconceptions when seeing the news reports on the menorah controversy at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The irony is that Rabbi Bogomilsky and his colleagues are squarely on the very opposite side of the debate… First the facts: Seattle Port Authority consultant Mitchell Stein, along with Rabbi Elazar Bogomilsky, a Seattle-based Chabad-Lubavitch rabbi, wanted to erect a Chanukah menorah at SeaTac Airport. The airport already had 14 large Christmas trees set up in various places throughout their terminals.

SeaTac is a major international gateway; why not share the menorah’s message with the tens of thousands who pass through it? There’s a public menorah in Red Square. At the Eiffel Tower. Inside the Brandenburg Gate. And in thousands of places throughout the United States and across the globe. Washington State’s own governor is proudly hosting a menorah lighting ceremony in the capitol during Chanukah.

But the folks in charge at SeaTac didn’t want a menorah. After weeks of stonewalling, bureaucratic double-speak and suddenly canceled meetings by Port brass, Rabbi Bogomilsky’s lawyer warned of possible legal action. The airport’s now infamous response was to…. remove the Christmas trees, claiming that they wouldn’t be able to handle the onslaught of religiously diverse requests.

“Rabbi Forces Removal of Christmas Trees” screamed the headlines. For the first 24 hours after the story broke, the news outlets, reflecting statements being made by airport officials, actually reported that the rabbi was “offended” by the trees and had threatened to sue to have them removed. Eventually the stories themselves became more factually correct, but the original slant remained, and most viewers and readers were left with the impression that all this was part of what’s lately being called the “War Against Christmas,” spawning reams of hate mail to Jewish organizations and websites across the country.

Some of the news stories had an almost surreal quality to them: the rabbi would be quoted insisting that he has nothing against the trees, that he never in any way implied that he would sue to have the trees be removed, and that he is simply fighting for the right to put up a menorah; yet as he speaks, we see the news banner on the screen behind him: “Rabbi Threatens Lawsuit; Christmas Trees Removed.” The reporter interviews the rabbi, asking his prepared question and then delivering his prepared sign-off, as if completely oblivious to what his interviewee has actually said.

It seems that there isn’t much you can do to separate a person from his beloved preconceptions: apparently, some reporters and news editors already “knew” that the rabbi is against the trees, and once they knew that, nothing–not even their own reportage–was going to change the way they present the story.

Even now, when the trees are back up, the rabbi promised not to sue (at least not this year), and the airport has (sort of) intimated that they may respond positively to his request…. next year (maybe), the media continues to spin the “War Against Christmas” story and the hate mail continues to pour in.

The irony is that, for the last 25 years, there has been an ongoing debate within the Jewish community on the very issue of religious displays in public places during the winter holiday season–with Rabbi Bogomilsky and his colleagues squarely on the very opposite side of the debate than the side that’s being attributed to him.

The sight of one menorah burning proudly through the night will do more for Jewish continuity than the removal of 1000 Christmas trees… There are 300 million people living in America, a large majority of whom are proud Christians; among them live about 5 million Jews. Come December, trees and other holiday paraphernalia blossom forth throughout the length and breadth of the land. Many Jews feel challenged by this phenomenon. “How can I raise my child to feel secure in and proud of his Jewishness,” they wonder, “when he’s confronted by these displays in every store window, hotel lobby and village square? How can I myself avoid feeling resentful, left out, discriminated against?”

Not long ago, the answer for many was: We’ll fight the trees! We’ll take them to court, we’ll cite the Establishment Clause, and get all religious symbols removed from the public domain.

[Clarification: it is the Leftists; not the Jews; who sought the removal of both Christmas trees and menorahs. Leftists are against religion and any public display of religion. Those are not Jews, and they wanted to tear down both Christian and Jewish religious symbols. But they are called "Jews" because of the stupid rule that if you pop out of a Jewish woman, that automatically makes you Jewish ... a rule that no one--including the Jew-haters--should follow. The last time I checked, Jew-haters don't obey Jewish law. I know that they are hypocritical liars, but they still shouldn't call leftists "Jews." Leftism and Judaism are two different religions. Chabad represents the true Jews of the world. Moving on...]

Chabad-Lubavitch took a different tack. Don’t fight to remove the trees–put up menorahs! Don’t direct your efforts to make America “less Christian”–work to celebrate America’s freedom to encourage Jews in their Jewishness. Would not a single positive message be so much more effective than a thousand un-messages? Would not the sight of a single menorah burning proudly through the night do more for Jewish pride and Jewish continuity than the removal of a thousand trees?

Today, most of the Jewish community has been won over to this view. But it wasn’t so long ago that Chabad-Lubavitch encountered vehement opposition for spearheading the “shower them with light” approach. I remember one particular year in the mid 1980’s when I was involved in helping organize the activities surrounding the public menorah lightings during Chanukah in Seattle (yes, the very same Seattle). A national Jewish organization took the city to court to try and force them to revoke their permission for Chabad-Lubavitch to put up the menorah. They were actually quite apologetic to us: “Please understand, we have nothing against your menorah, but we’re suing the city to make them take down the Christmas trees and crèches, so in all fairness, we need to fight the menorah too…”

So, irony of ironies, a Chabad-Lubavitch rabbi trying to put up a menorah is portrayed in hundreds of newspapers and television broadcasts from coast to coast as… the man who made SeaTac Airport remove the trees.

Shamefully, the airport is still obfuscating about why it is one of the only places in the United States to deny a menorah request. Hopefully in the short time left between now and Chanukah they will “see the light.”

But if there’s a lesson here for the rest of us, it may simply be: don’t presume. Don’t think that you already know what your fellow human being is all about, what he or she stands for, what s/he wants to achieve. If we’d listen to each other more, we might actually like what we hear.

Happy Chanukah!

How to Exterminate Hizbollah and Other Rats

March 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

If I were king of Israel, this is what I would do to wipe out Hizbollah and other terrorists once and for all, such that not even a faint whisper of these terrorists exists.

Just as the Roman Empire took over Israel, Israel should take over Lebanon. Take over Lebanon and make it an Israeli province, so that the Israelis can be stationed there and so that they can monitor the country more easily. It is much easier to exterminate the rats if you control the nation in which they fester.

As for the east, create a buffer zone. If a rat is found trespassing the buffer zone, exterminate it.

As for the west, cooperate with Egypt to exterminate the rats on the other side of the border, as well as their rat holes.

Exterminate the ringleader of the rats: Nasralla, and all his associates. I want to see the big bang theory in action.

And, of course, take a big hose and flood all of the rats that are currently bedding down in the land of Israel. After a while, the pea-brained rats would get the message: “Gee, maybe I should just live somewhere else in the Middle East.”

And if Iran, Syria, or other such nation is suspected of developing nuclear weapons, destroy those nuclear weapons facilities or supplies.

Do not rely on America for financial or military aid. In the words of Kahane, “Israel should stand on her own two feet.” Even if Israel receives only 3.5 billion dollars (out of a 15 billion-dollar Israeli military budget), with Egypt receiving 1 billion from the same package, this is unacceptable. That $3 billion should come from Jews who live in America, but not the American government.

The Jews need their own nation. Period. The Arab Muslim pea-brains were given a chance to live peacefully with Jews, but they blew it, literally and figuratively. And now they shall be blown out of Israel.

The Israelis Can Rock

Waiting for Messiah (Mechakim LaMashiach) Lyrics and Music: Shalom Hanoch (1985)
Shalom Hanoch (Hebrew: שלום חנוך ), born September 1, 1946, Kibbutz Mishmarot, Israel, is
an Israeli singer, lyricist and composer, who is considered to be one of the founders of Israeli
rock. His works have been profoundly influential to Israeli Rock and modern Israeli music in
general, both as a soloist and as a member of several groups. His collaboration with Arik
Einstein gave birth to some of the first Israeli Rock albums.

Lyrics:

Sitting for hours, waiting for the Messiah to come
The Messiah is a key man, his hand is in everything
and everything is in his hands,
Samich smoked and Yerucham licks his lips
Yorah looks at his watch and rolls his eyes
An office in the north — “Artzieli Ltd. – Advisors”
Afternoon and outside the world turns
Presses a buzzer, says: “Bring us coffee” -
The Messiah isn’t coming — he isn’t phoning, either.

A general silence, five tense individuals
The door opens and Yardenah, all smiles:
“The black is for Yorah, the tea for Artzieli junior”
Yardenah leaves, Ezra doesn’t stop smoking.
As each hour passes
Artzieli senior knows that he wasn’t mistaken
He drips with sweat, bellows at his son:
“The Messiah isn’t coming — he isn’t phoning, either.”

The doorbell pierces the hum of the air conditioner
Yerucham jumps to the door, cutting the smoke
Artzieli junior looks at his father from the side
And in the entrance is revealed a policeman with cap in hand
And Yudah says: “Something must have happened”
Yerucham responds “They don’t send the police for nothing”
The policeman says “There was an accident, and so
The Messiah isn’t coming — he isn’t phoning, either.”

“An accident with who?” asked the young Artzieli
“An accident of the State” answered the wretched policeman
“The stock market crashed, people jumped from the roof
The Messiah also jumped, and they announced that he was killed…”
“…everything’s lost” cried Ezra Dahan the contractor,
“The Messiah is in heaven and we, without the money, are here”
And the beautiful Yardenah mumbles “This can’t be!”
The Messiah isn’t coming — he isn’t phoning, either.

“Bitter December” — the headlines cried out
And the minister of finance gave an interview on the news:
“The public is stupid, so the public will pay,
What comes easily disappears just as easily.
The little man is forced to pay dearly.”
And to me Yardenah is more interesting than all the rest -
Go to reserve duty, and count the money that’s not there.
The Messiah isn’t coming – he isn’t phoning, either.

Racial Illogic

March 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

In the news today, I found a story titled “Race Played a Role in Subprime Mortgage Mess.” It is based on the Federal Reserve’s findings that, of those who have had to face foreclosure of their home because they are too stupid to take out a loan that they can afford, 55% were negro, and 17% were white. The story said that these fools were “steered to risky subprime mortgages when they were qualified for a traditional mortgage with a lower interest rate,” thus implying that banks intentionally tried to bankrupt negroes, but didn’t really want to bankrupt whites. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Let’s bankrupt the negroes and let’s not bankrupt the whites, just for fun. No reason in particular. Just because we’re bored, we flipped a coin, and we came up with blacks as the people to whom we would propose subprime mortgages.

This is the kind racial illogic that is deployed by the Leftist retards that surround me. Truth be told, these banks don’t care to whom they sell subprimes. They don’t care if you’re black, white, or green. They just care about the bottom line. And the bottom line is that, because negroes are mentally inferior to whites on average, it is common to find them biting off more than they can chew. And because people are becoming dumber and dumber by the minute, regardless of race, banks have discovered that people are much more likely to bite off more than they can chew. And it is entirely the faults of the fools who took out these loans that they couldn’t afford.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

Last Weekend in New Jersey

March 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I wrote the following letter to my mother relating to a trip to New Jersey last week. I post it here for the record:

You wouldn’t believe the weekend I just had in New Jersey. I don’t know how much you know about America, but New York and New Jersey are the most Jewish parts of the country. Lakewood, New Jersey has a Jewish population of 40,000 and growing, and it is home to the largest yeshiva in America. I went there for a JLE Shabbaton sponsored by Ohr Sameach which, if you don’t already know, is a yeshiva in Israel and America.

After an early-morning hair-cutting ceremony, I rented a car and drove three hours to New Jersey, arriving there at about 1:30 pm, just on time, despite the difficulty that I had in trying to find a car. When I got to the shul, I ate a light meal, and eventually met up with my host family, who took me into their home. The man’s name is Binyamin, and he has a wife from England. The kindness that flowed from this man was just incredible. (In fact, while writing this email, he just called me to see if I got home safely.) Words can hardly describe the kindness that this man showed for me. He and his wife have three very young children: two girls and a boy.

I returned to the shul, and after listening to a number of speeches given by rabbis, I ate a good Shabbas meal with an interesting bunch of guys. After the meal, additional speeches were given, including a special long speech by a Rabbi Gottlieb, who is now at Ohr Sameach. He is a great public speaker, and he was a professor of philosophy, which is precisely what I want to be. I enjoyed his lecture very much. Later on, I went up and shook his hand, and told him that he gave an “excellent spiel,” but I was later informed that the common interpretation of the word “spiel” refers to a rambling sales pitch.

The moment I stepped into my host’s house, he extended the utmost hospitality to me. He gave me a gift. When I opened it, I saw that it was two books: The Shabbos Companion, and Al Hanissim: the Complete Story of Purim. He also led me to his bookshelf and invited me to read whatever I found interesting. He pointed out some books that were written by his own rabbi. In fact, he later introduced me to him, whose blessing I received. I won’t tell you what the blessing was for, but I had never received a blessing from a rabbi in my life.

The next morning, I davened Shachris, and then I learned with my host briefly. In the limited period of time I had, he read from the beginning of the Shulchan Aruch, and then compared it to the Mishnah Berurah. After that, I ate lunch at my host’s house. The food was good. I especially enjoyed the two kinds of liver they had on the table. Not only did Ben and I break out into song, we broke out into dance … something which I have never experienced before.

After that, we went to the house of someone who is related to someone who owns ArtScroll, the publisher of Jewish books, and we heard Rabbi Gottlieb speak again. One of the things he said was that it doesn’t matter how late you start in your studies, as long as you progress at your own rate. He also said that everyone deserves a “baseline of respect,” and that even a fetus that is known to be handicapped should be allowed to live, because its soul must be so special that God would want it to be in this world despite its handicap.

Then we went to the shul for Mincha and Maariv, and heard Rabbi Cohen speak. Everyone broke out into song and dance, and it was wonderful. I have never danced with other Jews like I did that night. The speech that Rabbi Cohen gave was simple, yet witty. He spoke of how we should be thankful to Hashem for everything that we have, and that we should always have gratitude towards Him.

That was followed by a moving Havdala upstairs, with only the candle to light the room. Someone was playing beautiful music on a guitar during the ceremony, and at one point it became too much for me and I started to cry. My host was also present, and we broke out in dance yet again. Also, throughout all of this, my host had acted on my behalf. He got me the best seat in his shul. He took my hand and brought me inside of the circle of people who were dancing. He broke through the crowd and carved out a place for me to stand to see the Havdala ceremony. The lovingkindness that this fellow Jew extended to me was incredible.

After Havdala, all of us on the trip were taken to a house where a special rabbi who is originally from England but who works at the Lakewood Yeshiva was to speak. When he walked into the room, people stood up out of respect. He sat down at a table and gave a speech about how it was written hundreds of years ago in a midrash that the Kotel would never be destroyed, despite its falling into a number of non-Jewish hands, and that the prophecy had (obviously) proved to be correct.

Later that night, we went to another location, where we listened to music and enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet with sushi, pasta, blintzes, and little cupcakes for desert. Bear in mind that there was always food, and the food was always good. Baruch Hashem. Then a speech was given by Rabbi Schiller that involved a baseball analogy. The rabbi spoke on several occasions throughout the trip, and it was always a pleasure to hear him, but this speech was excellent. After that, live music was played for several hours.

But it was that evening when my host met up with me as I was walking outside after having spoken to my brother, telling him why I believe in God (and not merely the “universe”), and we had a nice talk that I will never forget.

We decided to spend some more time at the party, where I met a yeshiva student who is just as tall as me. He was not a part of the group, but he was in town because he goes to the Lakewood Yeshiva. He could’ve sworn that he saw me from somewhere, and I confirmed that we saw each other at the bagel place in Baltimore one week prior. He explained that he lives in Baltimore, and that he was visiting his parents. He then told me his father’s name and in what shul his father davens. I knew exactly where it is. Also, my host’s brother-in-law, who is the son of a man who started a popular deli in Baltimore close to where I live, also goes to that shul.

The next day, we woke up early. I went with my host to daven, apart from the JLE crowd. The rosh yeshiva of the Mir yeshiva in Israel was present. And because my host went to Mir, he knew the rabbi, and introduced me to him. After that, I took my car and followed the bus that was heading to the Lakewood Yeshiva for a field trip. What I saw in that yeshiva I had never seen before: miles of book-stands and open books and boys studying in large buildings in many different locations. Somehow, during this field trip, I managed to be at the front of the group. In fact, throughout the entire weekend, I was always in the middle of all the action.

After that, the bus was about to leave to go elsewhere. The only trouble is – I couldn’t find my car. I ran to it, because I needed to follow the bus, but my car was nowhere to be found. I tried to run back to the bus, but I ran out of breathe, and I saw it leave. But, miraculously, a car rolled up. It was Rabbi Neuhaus, the man who organized the trip, with a cigar in his mouth. For ten to fifteen minutes we drove around the Yeshiva looking for my car. Eventually, we found it. After that, I followed him to where the bus had gone. Thankfully, the bus hadn’t gone far. It was at the station, preparing to go to New York, which was a part of the trip that I didn’t want to go on.

After this, I drove to my host’s house. No one was home, but my cell-phone had died, so I couldn’t call anyone. I decided to kill the time by taking a nap in my car. After I woke up refreshed, I saw that Ben’s car was in his parking lot. He apologized profusely over the whole thing, but I told him that it was okay, that I got some rest, and that it was my fault for not brining my cell-phone charger, which is the other thing – besides my tefillin – that I forgot to bring.

Inside his house, I ate lunch, and then we left the house to go shopping. He took me to get a suit. And these were not cheap suits, either. Eventually, we went with a suit that fit me. There was a concern that we wouldn’t find one because of my long arms, but we found a very nice one indeed.

In addition to the jacket and pants, he got me a belt, two ties, and a pair of shoes. Oh yeah, one more thing. He got me a black hat. After we left the store, I said: I’m not even going to ask how much that cost. And I thanked God.

After that, we went to another store where he got me a new kippa, a couple of CD’s with Shabbos music, and Mitzvah Cards with a detailed explanation of the Ten Commandments.

We went back to his place, I had some dinner, and I left his house with a sack of food that his wife put together for me.

Relating back to the speech given by Rabbi Cohen, my gratitude is abundant. The love and the lectures that I experienced during that trip will not be forgotten. Hashem has smiled upon me, Ben’s family, and everyone who was involved in coordinating that trip. And may Hashem continue to smile upon the good Jews of the world.

They must go!

March 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Israel is paying the price for her own Leftism.

But what is the ideal solution to the problem of terrorism in Israel?

To remove every Muslim from the land.

The Jew-haters and Lefties can whine about it until they are purple in the face for all I care.

Ignore the Jew-hating bastards and bitches of the world who don’t know the difference between religious intolerance and self-defense.

Nor should Israel babysit these big babies in their settlements.

They should simply be expelled from the land.

Just as the Jew-hating Christians and Muslims have expelled the Jews dozens of times before.

So should the Muslims be expelled from the land of Israel.

The Christians may stay.

But the Arab Muslims must go.

And every Israeli should be armed.

As soon as the Arab Muslim was spotted, a bullet should’ve been inserted into his pea-brain.

May a mighty flood sweep through the land of Israel and flush out the Muslims who should’ve been flushed out 50 years ago.

And may they go to one of their backwards, primitive, oil-taxing Arab countries where Jews have been expelled and oppressed in times past.

I hope the Israelis are happy that they do not all carry guns, and that they have forsaken Kahane.

Kahane was right, and Kahane will always be right: they must go.

Get these Arab Jew-haters the fuck out of Israel!

Kill those who will not go!

They must go!

They must go!

They must go!

McCain: the Lesser of Three Evils

March 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

At first I thought they were all equally evil, and that it would be best just to vote for Ron Paul. But then I did some research, took a closer look, and found that McCain is, in fact, the lesser of the three evils. Here’s why. After this, I compare President Bush to Arizona Senator McCain.

McCain on Iraq: He wants to wrap it up. His “100 year comment” is taken out of context. The context is that the troops would have to be out of harms way, just like the troops that are stationed in Japan. Anyway, it doesn’t matter because he wouldn’t be president for 100 years. The bottom line is that he wants to be more effective in Iraq. The most effective thing we can do is pull out cold turkey, but none of these candidates except for Ron Paul wants to do that. The second best thing is do is to simply be more effective in our militaristic endeavors, and McCain wants to do that.

McCain on Iran: This is the thing that I really wanted to check up on. I’m not worried. I don’t think he’d jump at the opportunity to make a preemptive strike against Iran. “McCain said it was likely _ even probable _ that diplomatic pressure and nonmilitary measures could be effective.” -http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/16/AR2007101600646.html.

McCain on abortion: He’s against it, and he wants to put in Supreme Court judges who will overturn Roe V. Wade. Not only does he talk the talk; he walks the walk. ” In 1993, John McCain and his wife, Cindy, adopted a little girl from Mother Teresa’s orphanage in Bangladesh. She has been a blessing to the McCain family and helped make adoption advocacy a personal issue for the Senator.” -(http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/95b18512-d5b6-456e-90a2-12028d71df58.htm)

McCain on immigration: He isn’t actually for “amnesty.” That’s a myth. He’s for temporary work permits, en route to citizenship. There’s a difference. In fact, it would make an excellent “carrot” to use to get illegals out of hiding, and to account for them in a way that would likely lead them to either become legal citizens or to be forced to leave the country. He wants to strengthen the borders. In fact, he wants to build a fence along the border.

McCain on Legally recognized gay marriage: No go. “The family represents the foundation of Western Civilization and civil society and John McCain believes the institution of marriage is a union between one man and one woman. It is only this definition that sufficiently recognizes the vital and unique role played by mothers and fathers in the raising of children, and the role of the family in shaping, stabilizing, and strengthening communities and our nation.” -http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/95b18512-d5b6-456e-90a2-12028d71df58.htm

McCain on taxes: He wants tax cuts for the middle class. Make it harder to raise taxes. Don’t tax the internet. Don’t tax cell phone usage. Lower taxes for investment and saving. Basically, he claims that he wants to cut taxes, and his ideas look pretty good. -http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/0B8E4DB8-5B0C-459F-97EA-D7B542A78235.htm

McCain on gun rights: He wants freedom to own firearms. In fact, he wants freedom to own assault rifles. He opposes making gun manufacturers liable for crimes committed by way of gun. He wants to lift the ban on DC residents to own firearms. This is good. This is very good, especially considering that the real solution is not even Ron Paul, but completely overthrowing this misbegotten political system and replacing it with pure freedom. That might require lethal force.

Is he really a repeat of President Bush? Well, President Bush is an idiot. John McCain is not an idiot. President Bush is a criminal complicit in 9/11. President Bush didn’t really lower taxes, nor did he try to. McCain may also fail us here. But as a Republican who wants to lower taxes in a dozen different ways, I don’t think it would be harder for us to imagine him lowering taxes than one of the clowns on the other side of the political fence. I can easily imagine Bobama Hasalami stealing mo’ money from the rich white folk and giving it to the po’ black folk. And I don’t exactly envision Hillary as the epitome of prudence either.

And that’s just the “socialism” issue. Then there’s everything else, which is not to mention that the election of a woman or a non-white man into office would be an affirmative action nightmare for this country. We would never hear the end of it, and it would confuse the dumb liberals of the world on the race/gender issue even more than they already are. They would say “if a woman can be president, then women should be making as much money as men” or “if a negro can be president, then negroes should be making as much money as whites.”

But that’s just an aside. Issues of symbolic relevance aside, please, Lord, do not allow for the election of one of these fools, let it be McCain: the lesser of three evils.
