Polygamists Persecuted in Texas
April 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Men with guns who work for the United States forcibly removed 216 women and children from a ranch in Texas because of a phone call that some 16 year old girl made in which she said that she was “abused” there (see link). Now, does that mean that the girl – whom they can’t find – is actually a resident of the ranch? No. And does that warrant arresting hundreds of women and children because of the phone call report of “abuse” by one girl? Of course not. Never mind that the raid was an absurd waste of money and resources. This was nothing short of persecution by a dictatorial government. This is not a free country. This is a dictatorship, plain and simple.
There is not–nor has there ever been–anything wrong with consensual polygamy. Rape and pedophilia is one thing; polygamy is another thing. Notice that the morons of the media – with the notable exception of John Stossel, who has revealed the truth about the happiness of the Mormon polygamists – equate polygamy with pedopilia and rape, when they have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

How to be Healthy
April 7, 2008 · Leave a Comment
How do you be healthy? That is a question that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars in books, courses, and gym memberships. I will tell you the basic philosophy of how to be healthy. This is partially inspired by the writings of Bill Phillips and the book The Cardio Free Diet.
First of all, do not engage in corrosive exercise that will pound away at your cartilage, such as running, basketball, and other such bone-pounding activities. You wind up burning calories, but you will be using a walker by the age of 60. So whatever exercise you do, make sure it is gentle on your cartilage. I recommend walking, but gentle walking, not stomping.
Second of all, realize that your goal is two-fold: to burn fat, and to build muscle. When you do aerobic exercise, you burn both fat and muscle. Thus, if you are going to do aerobic exercise, you should compliment it with anaerobic exercise (weightlifting) so that you not only lose the bad, you gain the good.
Third of all, eating well consists of taking in fewer calories than you burn to the point that you burn the desired amount of body fat, and then–after you lose the desired amount of fat–consuming the same amount of calories that you burn. This amount of calories is what you need, in contrast to what you want. Make sure that you get all the nutrition that your body needs … even if you have to waste money on multivitamins to help you do this. Do not only care about calories; care about macronutritional and micronutritional content.
Fourth of all, remember that you burn muscle as well as fat when you burn calories. So you should not only lift weight to preserve the muscle that you have, and to keep your bones strong; you should also eat enough protein to feed the muscles so that you can actually build muscle instead of just break down muscle and not build it back up. Your body needs fat and carbohydrates, too, but protein is especially useful as structural material, such as for muscles. To deprive yourself of protein is for your weightlifting efforts to be in vain.
Fifth of all, stay away from artificial ingredients, as they may be deleterious to your health. These include artificial sweetener, artificial fat, artificial flavor, artificial color, and MSG. Stay away from drugs that you don’t need, such as mind-altering drugs. Purchase organic products; not those treated with hormones or pesticides. If there is a Whole Foods type of market near you, I recommend you shop there for your food.
Sixth of all, do not expect your dieting to be perfect. It won’t be. But do expect yourself to improve your diet as you learn more. People run into trouble when they “go on a diet.” I am against “going on a diet,” and I am for “dieting.” Dieting is a lifelong process, whereas “going on a diet” is based on fads and formula that probably wind up doing more harm than good. But these principles offer you a good starting point in your lifelong journey to health.
