Let us be clear on what is meant when I speak of “Leftism” and “Zionism.”
Leftism is the doctrine that there is no philosophical truth: there is no objective reality, and there is no objective morality. Rather, truth, in both metaphysics and ethics, is relative and subjective. From this rejection of philosophy comes egalitarianism, whereby everyone is deemed of equal virtue, and deserving of an equal amount of credit and wealth. That is how Leftism is the basis of socialism, feminism, multiculturalism, environmentalism, race denial, disrespect of elders, and so forth. Void of moral standards, Leftism leads to a worship of tolerance, albeit not tolerance of those who do not share the belief in Leftism. If you are not a Leftist, you are deemed a “fundamentalist” or a “bigot” of some sort.
Whereas Leftism is the worship of nothing, Zionism is the worship of the Jewish state. It is a misprioritization, elevating the value of the Jewish state so highly in comparison to the Diaspora, that the Zionists may be willing to go to excessive lengths to protect Zion: excessive not by the standards of the Gentiles, but by the standards of humanity. It is considered a Holy Land that is to be preserved and protected at all costs. It is a myopic and crazy view of Israel and its relationship to the Diaspora. And it is this religious cult that I call “Zionism.” I do not call the mere desire for a Jewish state “Zionism,” because to desire a Jewish state and to worship a Jewish state are two different things. Not that this is the only form of nationalism in history. All throughout history, people have worshiped their nation, and died in the name of their nation, such as the Japanese kamikazes, who would go on suicide raids, crashing their airplanes into American ships as a form of attack. Zionism is just another form of nationalism. Nowadays, there are Christian Zionists as well as Jewish Zionists, just to illustrate that Zionism is an entity set apart from Judaism.
What is the relationship between Leftism and Zionism?
As with Zionism, Leftism is now shared by “Jews” and Gentiles alike, but both have their roots in “Jewish” activism. I put scare quotes around “Jews” and “Jewish” because these people fell from Judaism, which is what allowed them to embrace Leftism and Zionism. But the harbingers and vanguards of Leftism and Zionism were predominately of Jewish heritage, because they felt enough of a connection to Judaism to seek the protection of the Jews, but not enough of a connection to Judaism to properly seek the protection of the Jews. So though the Jewish heritage of the founding Leftists and Zionists had something to do with why they became Leftists and Zionists, Judaism itself is not to blame for these socio-cultural maladies. For it is to the extent that these people fell from Judaism that they promoted the evil sides of these doctrines, rather than their reasonable counterparts.
Leftism and Zionism are not entirely sinister. There is something about Leftism and Zionism that is good. The part of Leftism that emphasizes “religious tolerance” is indeed good. People should have religious tolerance. Catholics, Jews, and Muslims should interact with each other in a peaceful manner, even though they have different theological beliefs. Though it may not be possible for people of different religions to intermarry, they should still get along with each other. This is the one side of Leftism that is noble. However, Leftists worship tolerance, just as Zionists worship the Jewish state. In other words, they take it too far. They are obsessed with tolerance, to the point that they do not believe in objective right or wrong. This is where Leftism becomes a dangerous doctrine, because it deprives people of the beliefs and values that they need to live, and to live well.
As for Zionism, its good side is found in the desire for a Jewish state. The mere desire for a Jewish state is noble. Even if you are a Gentile, you should agree with it. Because it is by way of the Jewish state that the Jews can defend themselves without seeking the involvement – and the sacrifice – of Gentiles. So if there is some crazed anti-Semitic nation that seeks the destruction of the Jews for lack of religious tolerance, then the Jews should not have to rely upon the grace and goodwill of other Gentile nations to bail them out. Furthermore, Gentiles would have a lower incentive to help the Jews in times of distress, for they are Gentile, and not Jews. Hence, the utility of a Jewish state, whereby Jews can defend themselves. Good and tolerant Gentiles should not want to see the destruction of innocent Jews for the mere “crime” of being Jews, and a Jewish state would be a security guard for the Jews, that would call upon Jews to defend themselves. So a Jewish state is a good idea for both Jews and Gentiles.
Some people, who would be classified as “anti-Semites,” think of Leftism and Zionism as products of the Jewish religion, and particularly the Talmud. You may also find them racking up “quotes” from the Talmud that “substantiate” their claims. The only problem with this theory: it’s wrong. It turns out that the most dangerous so-called “Jews” are not those who keep kosher, keep Shabbat, and have studied Talmud; they are Jews who don’t keep kosher, don’t keep Shabbat, and may not even know what the Talmud is. In fact, if we were to draw a graph showing us how much people who study the Talmud are Leftist or Zionist, we would find the opposite of what the anti-Semite claims: those who know more about the Talmud, and who are more religious, and who are closer to Judaism, are less likely to be a menace to society than those who do not. That is because the alleged “quotations” cited by the anti-Semites are actually misrepresentations: either they are misquotations, they are taken out of local or global context, or they are misinterpreted.
For example, I have seen these people take “quotes” from the Talmud about Balaam – a prophet in the “Old Testament” – and replace “Balaam” with “Jesus,” to make it look as though the quote speaks against Jesus. That is not to say that the Talmud doesn’t mention Jesus, but that I have seen such misquotes, as well as context-dropping and misinterpretation. In short, anti-Semites misrepresent the Talmud, when and if they seek to make the case that Leftism and Zionism are products of Judaism in general, and the Talmud in particular.
Contrary to anti-Semitic belief, Leftism and Zionism are not products of Judaism; they are products of the absence of Judaism. It is because people have fallen from Judaism that these diseases have sprung about. This is obvious when we look at the natures of the diseases.
Leftism and Zionism are good for no one, because they are atheistic religions. One is the worship of nothing/tolerance, and the other is the worship of Jewish nation. They are violations of Judaism: namely, the Ten Commandments: namely, the prohibition on worshiping idols. That is not to mention the violations of the other commandments, such as “thou shalt not steal” and “thou shalt not murder.” They are against Judaism, and they are against the Philosophy of Life. Both Leftism and Zionism exist ostensibly to protect the Jews, but these are immoral ways of protecting the Jews, and they actually wind up hurting everyone.
May God damn the cults of Leftism and Zionism, and may the names and memories of their forebears be erased.
